When Did Miley Cyrus Know She Wanted to End Her Relationship?
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's official announcement last week that they'd called off their engagement didn't seem to come as much of a shock to anyone. The two were rumored to be at odds for months.
Now the 20-year-old pop star is opening up in the November 2013 issue of Fashion magazine, admitting that the troubles in her nearly four-year relationship began long before it ended. She also admitted that these emotions are reflected in her new song "Drive."
"I wrote it while I was working on Valentine's Day," she confessed. "Emotionally it was such a hard time. It is about needing to leave someone but not really want to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It's a time when you want to leave but you can't. It's also about moving on."
Between "Drive" and the already-released "Wrecking Ball," it seems the dissolution of Miley's relationship with the "Hunger Games" actor will be a recurring theme of her album, "Bangerz," which drops next month.
While the album may have its fair share of angst, the two stars seem to be handling the breakup rather well. Liam looked dapper as ever on a red carpet earlier this week and has already been seen in a lip lock with Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez. Miley is taking to her music to help her move on, and is rumored to be spending quality time with her producer, Mike Will.
