New app could become your go-to fitness tool

GADGETSA Lifestyle // Wanted Blog

The Lorna Jane app tracks runs, walks, and cycling workouts with GPS

Admit it: Your Candy Crush addiction is getting out of hand (and probably contributing to bad posture—yeah, we see you hunched over your iPhone). Banish bad gaming habits and put your iPhone to work by swapping out an old app for the Lorna Jane fitness tracker, newly launched for the U.S. market.

Already our favorite source of stylish workout gear, the Australia-based fitness company recently announced they’d be offering their popular health and fitness app overseas, and it’s now available for free download on iPhones and iPads with iOS 5.0 or later.

“To date, the Lorna Jane app has inspired women in 132 countries worldwide to move over two million miles, the equivalent of running from Los Angeles to New York and back 717 times,” says Sam Zivot, Lorna Jane’s head of digital.

The simple to use app tracks your runs, walks, and bike rides using your phone’s GPS and records the distance traveled, total active time, pace, speed, and calories burned. Feeling sluggish? The app also plays hosts to inspirational quotes and awards exercisers badges on special days (like Australia’s Active Nation Day on September 29). From the app’s clean and cheery design to its simplicity, it’s our new go-to fitness tool—no candy clearing required.
