Who Said Goodbye to Hollywood on Week 3 of 'Dancing With the Stars'?

SPOILER ALERT: This recap reveals the elimination results of Week 3 of "Dancing With the Stars."
Week 3 of "Dancing With the Stars" had a little bit of everything: a paso doble, a rumba, a quickstep, even a Charleston (or two!) The theme: Hollywood Night, which featured an extra dose of glitz and glam as all of the couples danced to a Hollywood movie song. And thanks to the show's new once-a-week format, the live episode also featured another elimination.
So who said goodbye to Hollywood? After Monday night's ballroom buffet, Bill Nye and his partner Tyne Stecklein were the second couple eliminated from the competition. The third week was clearly not the charm for the popular couple, whose Week 3 scores were combined with last week's audience votes to make them the overall lowest scorers.

"There's people here who are working so hard, who are so good, you see how they're improving each week," Nye said. "I'm not going to be able to keep up for that. What breaks my heart is Tyne's not going to be able to to stay in."
Nye also had a message for his loyal fans: "Thanks for keeping me in this long," he said. "These other people are extraordinary. It's been really cool."
This week's elimination wasn't a complete surprise, considering fans of the show speculated that low scorer Nye would be going due to the knee ligament injury he suffered from last week. After he was rushed to the hospital, the science educator tweeted a series of ominous messages about being unable to dance, and shortly before Monday's live show aired he wrote:

Nye's popularity (and some really good doctors) kept him in the game, but he didn't have "DWTS" survival down to a science. After ignoring his doctor's advice to skip this week's dance unless he did it in a wheelchair, Nye underwent a "platelet rich plasma treatment" to help treat his torn tendon, and he danced wearing a leg immobilizer. Not only that, but Stecklein came up with some crazy choreography that exploited his peg leg.
But the Science Guy's robotic jazz routine didn't pan out as planned. While judge Bruno Tonioli quipped that "the whole galaxy is tuning in" for the popular PBS star's dance, he had to be truthful when it came to the dance's jazz content: "I didn't see any," he said. Score: 16 points and high marks for an incredible spirit.

Brant Daugherty topped the judges' leaderboard for the night. While the "Pretty Little Liars" star hurt his foot and had to rehearse while wearing a boot all week, his quickstep with pro partner Peta Murgatroyd dazzled the judges. Len Goodman said, "It may have been a little painful to dance, but it was painless to watch." The judges rolled out the red carpet — and the triple 9s!
Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff also ranked high for the judges. The "High School Musical" star wowed the audience with a lightning fast quickstep that Tonioli dubbed "one for the record books… incredibly fast." Goodman was a bit of a buzz kill, though. The head judge said, "It was a bit hectic. Speed came in and then style went out." Still, the dance earned a whopping 26 points and a standing O from the Glitter Pit.
Ditto for Christina Milian and Mark Ballas. The duo's 26-point Charleston featured Ballas in full clown face and Milian in a skimpy get-up that host Tom Bergeron dubbed "Frederick's of Hollywood Night."
Joining Nye at the bottom of the board was Valerie Harper and Tristan McManus's cha cha. The "Grace Kelly meets Freddy Mercury" theme didn't work and, unfortunately, Tonioli nailed the disastrous dance when he said, "Royalty doesn't mix with rock and roll." Carrie Ann Inaba acknowledged that the 74-year-old TV legend lost her way through the dance, but praised her star quality. Score: 16 points.
The surprise of the night may have been Bill Engvall. The comedian received a "Hi Ho" and a standing O for his Lone Ranger-themed paso doble with Emma Slater. Inaba told the star he "nailed" the dance, while Goodman expressed his love for the Lone Ranger and Tonto, adding, "If you had come out on his horse Silver you'd get a 10!" The comic settled for an impressive score of 24.
Here's the full list of scores from Week 3 of "Dancing With the Stars:

Next week's "Dancing With the Stars" will feature guest judge Julianne Hough. The two-time mirrorball champ — who took home "DWTS" trophies with Olympic skater Apolo Ohno and Indy 500 racer Helio Castroneves — will fill in for head judge Goodman, who'll be in England judging "Strictly Come Dancing."
"I really just wanna feel those paddles," Hough joked about her upcoming return to the ballroom. "Don't be surprised if the 4s are kicked out and just gone."
